Dr. Rogers has practiced Internal Medicine in Rome, Georgia since January 1987. He began his practice at Rome Internal Medicine on John Maddox Drive. In April 2003, his practice moved to 123 Three Rivers Drive where he later joined Floyd Primary Care Network.
Dr. Rogers has practiced at both Floyd and Redmond hospitals, admitting and caring for his hospitalized patients. In addition, he has mentored many medical students through their clinical requirements and in 2009 received an American College of Physicians Georgia Chapter Community Based Teaching Award.
A native of Kentucky, Dr. Rogers attended the University of Kentucky for his undergraduate and medical school studies. Upon graduation from medical school in 1982, he performed his internship at the University of Florida Shands Hospital and then completed his residency at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
Lauren is an Alabama native and received her B.A. in Biology from Huntingdon College where she played NCAA volleyball. She graduated from South University with a Master of Science Degree in Physician Assistant Studies.
She joined Dr. Rogers in 2010 and practiced at both Floyd and Redmond hospitals with Rogers. She has also helped mentor physician assistant and nurse practitioner students through their clinical requirements.
Cara is the newest member of our provider team, joining TruPoint Physicians in 2024. Cara has practiced nursing for more than 30 years, caring for both adults and children. She graduated from Georgia State University in 2024 where she completed her Family Nurse Practitioner degree requirements. Cara also earned nursing degrees from Western Governors University, Salt Lake City, UT and Sanford University, Birmingham, AL.
She has practiced nursing at several hospitals in Georgia and Alabama including Atrium Health Floyd, Children’s Health Care of Atlanta, Candler Medical Center, Savannah, Scottish Rite Children’s Hospital, Atlanta, Children’s Hospital of Alabama and St. Mary’s Hospital, Athens.
